In the earlier post we have seen the problems of language proficiency, now lets talk about the remedies.I have heard many people say "the problem is we think in our regional dialect and then convert it into english,so that delay in speech comes out as stammering and makes the thing worse".I completely DISAGREE with this statement.I am not concerned about the conversion, but how can one ever think in a dialect or a language.Let me tell you can never think in english or any other language.Thoughts are those emotions in mind that happens to flow more like a painting than words. If you notice properly, you can see every memory or every answer comes to your mind as a picture and then you take it out to words(provided you have not mugged up something without understanding). So we think the way everyone does and you can never think in languages;its something like asking someone to draw a picture in english(if you can do that you can do this too). The interpretation of idea to words is similar to adding a description to your painting(none can do it better than you).So what you need to do is label your idea in english rather than "creating your idea in english".
How to implement this labelling technique. Its as simple as that.If you fear talking to people in public,do it in private with yourself.Say to yourself, speak to yourself.Believe me( because I have tried it and worked well) you can start talking to yourself, there would be moments when you talk to yourself when you put your thoughts on something, label your thoughts in english and this is the best possible start you can ever give to attain language proficiency.(Do it in front of a mirror, its just a funny and beautiful experience).
The another thing you must do is listen to english programs whatever it is ,even a cricket commentary will do ,also atleast once in a week go through an english article whether in news paper or magazine or anything in that regard.I can tell you this will get you well with your speaking fluency, it will increase your word power which well augment the quality of the words you use and of course the flow of words. This is similar to providing words for describing your image.
Once you implement these two techniques,I assure you,you are quite ready to talk in english with no much problems. Now regarding the fluency or flawless speech that you do find in VJs or other news spokesmen, you need to talk with others in english especially with your friends.Do create small sessions of mock GDs or discussions in your class rooms and that does help a lot.Infact these are the only ways by which you can improve.Sitting idle and thinking "oh this is not my cup of tea" really means its time for some nice thrashing. So guys kick start your preparations and your weakness would surely be your greatest asset.A better conveyed small idea is always better than an excellent idea not conveyed.

Do's and Dont's in an interview -LANGUAGE MATTERS-problems
Hello guys this is my second post on do's and dont's in an interview. This time I am here to talk about the power of expression-the power of language. Many a time ,even in my campus ,I have seen this inability or infact a sort of inertia among students in putting forth their ideas. The problem as they say happens to be the difficulty in presenting a langauge different from their mother tongue. Its quite understandable, especially in colleges you cannot expect everytime to speak in english and naturally the tendency of inhibition in speaking comes out. This flaw mainly comes out in GDs but becomes more noticable in interview.Ofcourse you need skills to get to a job and if you have skills and still cant get the job, then the flaw must be with you language. Now how to improve your language.Mostly one can see people joining for some spoken english courses, polish their language and get through, personally I believe you can do much better without this because we remember and practice those things efficiently that we learn ourselves.I never mean such courses are bad, but I would say such courses are unnecessary especially when you are doing a graduation course or a professional course.
First lets analyse the reasons of so called "faulty" language.
Here the educational background matter most of the times( there are cases where this hasnt been a hindrance in english proficiency).Students with schooling with a regional syllabus base do face a problem as the whole portions or atleast most of them happens to be in the regional language.so they are kept aloof from the english proficiency that you would normally expect from a student who follows a CBSE or english medium, but all of them neednt be betterof with speech skills.
Next is the deliberate inertia that students show in speaking in english. There are a lot of students who just disagrees to participate in mock gds or interviews because they have to speak in english. This is mainly because of the fear of humiliation that they feel they have to face if they speak out something grammatically incorrect or if their style of speech happens to be of "low class".What they fail to understand is most of them has all learned this way and nothing is learned without mistakes.
I think these are the main problems related to the deficiency in language proficiency(If you feel there are other problems please feel free to tell me).

Do's and Dont's in an interview -SAY NO TO SHYNESS
Mostly now a days you do see a lot of interview tips and stuff in many of the websites and all of them happens to be identical, I am not much interested in putting on those usual things ,but would like to draw your attention to what really matters in an interview.
Initially (Far before the interview; may be months back even before you know you will have to attend such interviews) try to be more interactive with people. This is very very important. If you are inert, its better you throw off that habit and get yourself more open ,else you are out of the game.We should always remember that its not as easy as we speak to put yourself properly at an interview when you have been inert for all through out your life. Its quite understandable that some people do have shy nature and they tend to keep themselves away from debates, speech competitions and also such activities where one has to be dare enough to stand in front of others and present something. But what one should know is too much inertness never fetches you a job.
Now talking about stripping of the shyness in you.As I have told, its not always so easy to strip off your shyness one morning and become social.First of all,you have to have a positive attitude.Try mingling with people especially friends, make your voice count among them. Also when you get chances to be more social especially like taking initiative in regards of various activities;in college or school,do show the spirits to meet the challenge rather than running away from it.Never hesitate to say yes whenever you get a chance yourself to present in front of a gathering.Mostly the fear of under performance leads one to saying a big no in this regard, but proper practice will lead you the right way.Now some would mention about the shivering that they feel when addressing a bunch of people, but let me tell you ,this feeling remains possibly for a minute or less and almost every person in the world experiences this feeling on the first stage.Let me tell you from my experience ,its that initial guts that you need to have to stand in front of others and then everything would be normal. So dont crawl around corridors of your institution and waste your time, put yourself into something thats worth playing a good part in your life.
So remember, the first tip for being successful in your interviews is STRIP OFF YOUR SHYNESS and BE DARING TO PRESENT YOUR IDEAS IN FRONT OF OTHERS.

Memories of Kodaikanal
It was really one of the most beautiful days of my life when me and my friends landed in Kodaikanal in a cold morning. We had a wonderful time there and almost all of us carried the cameras with us so as to tap the beauty of nature into our frames and place it in our hearts.Let me share some beautiful snaps with you taken during the trip.

The last one is the one I love the most.I could trap those sunrays in my camera.
What do you feel about the snaps ;do let me know.

Interview experience -The Satyam mission
The title would give you an idea about the company of which I wanted to be part of,it was Satyam Computers, one of the IT giants in India. This time it was more than just a recruitment test for me,but I had infact put many things on stake. It was never an easy decision for me since I would have to attend my lab exams the very next day after I come back after the test, also none of my classmates were making it for the drive.May be for the first time it seemed some sort of a real challenge for me and I was damn damn determined that I SHOULD DO IT THIS TIME.With the lessons from the past experience,I attended the test.Only 15 questions, but they were real nerve teaser with negative marks. To be frank ,I didnt care for negative marks and attended 11 questions.I even marked those answers which I was partially sure of.Somehow i cleared the test. Then it was the GD round.Till that moment I had only heard about GD and not even know how its to be attended, but I had to get through.Luckily I met a guy who was also attending the GD(he was already placed in Wipro). He gave me the tips and luckily for me,he was in the same group as mine. With his help,I got through the GD round and my interview was fixed for the next day. This was the real test of my character.I had to prove that I had learned from my mistakes.Believe me,that was the day for the first time in my life,I worked really hard.Till 1 am in the morning I kept going through my datastructure textbook. This time i didnt want to give myself a chance ,so was trying with every bit of myself to understand the concepts.I dont know when I slept, but I got up at 5 am.I was then thinking about what should I answer if I was asked about my strength and weakness.I just thought a lot about it and found the answer. Then the time just ran off.My interview schedule was supposed to be at 9am ,but finally it started around 1pm.I got into the room, the interviewer greeted with me a smile. He was just so cool and try to make me feel comfortable and I acted as if I really was.He asked me to introduce myself, then asked about my schooling and favourite subject. The most important point was when he asked me "how do you assess your strength and weakness".I started of normally in a standard format (I am confident smart etc etc). Then I told him "This interview itself is a test of my character .It was a tough decision for me to make to attend this interview with all odds and troubles. If I get through the interview ofcourse I would be applauded, but if I fail,I would be blamed for my irresponsible move to come and attend the test. But as far as I am concerned,I dont regret on my decision because I never want to sob on a missed out chance."I think he was really pleased with that reply and he said "that was a comprehensive reply well done".The interview was over and I shook hands with him and came out. After about an hour, the result came and I heard my name called out.It was a dream come true and feeling of elation that words can never express.Atleast I was happy for I made my dad proud,a mission accomplished and a big boost for my morale. It remains as one of the most cherished moments for me and will hopefully remain so.
My first interview experience.
My first interview experience is something I feel worth mentioning.Even though I couldnt get through the interview,I learned many things that got me right in the second time.My written test was on March 10th which I got through some how,but when it came to interview, the tension was taking its toll on me.It was my first interview infact I hadnt even attended a mock interview till that moment. So as expected the technical interview started with some simple questions and then the interviewer asked me,"which is the subject that you want me to ask questions on".I didnt know what to say and made the biggest stupidity ever I could dream of;I told him"Its up to you sir,you can decide".After that very moment,I was on the shooting range and the questions tore me off.I had a horrible twenty minutes after which I somehow managed to get away from there.Within five minutes the results came and as expected I was ousted. Then I learned one thing that,I had to focuss on a single subject and I should have drawn him to that subject rather than falling prey to his questions. With these things in mind,I started my preparations for the second placement test.I forgot to tell you;my first interview was for the post of software trainee in Siemens Information Systems. And remember failures are the stepping stones to success.
Mylot

I would like to introduce you people to the one of the coolest and most trusted sites ie MYLOT.Its a discussion site where you can talk to people on anything and everything.Earlier I was completely immersed in orkut all the time, but soon I found it to be boring and dragging as all the time I had nothing else to speak other than 'hi ,how are you'.This was when I was introduced to mylot by my friend and now most of the time I am in mylot. The most important thing is you never get bored with mylot as you have various topics to discuss on where you can present your views and comment on other's responses. Moreover it helps to enhance your language and also gives a new dimension to your perspectives and thoughts. Also let me tell you there is a payment offer in mylot that lets you earn a handsome amount through discussions and let me tell you,I have already earned my ten dollars and has got credited.Really its something where you can enjoy as well as earn.So do give it a try.TO KNOW MORE CLICK ON THE TITLE OF THIS POST.
Too many ads but not too much nonsense
When you look at my blog, you happen to see too many ads;I hope you are not disgusted with that. Its been some months since I have been in this vicious circle of online earning site.I call it vicious circle because I start browsing from one site crawl through it to many sites and finally reach the same site to find its not very easy to get the job done. You can find many such sites today ,but more than half of them happen to be spam and I have to admit I have been a victim of that. But there are some sites that really pays and out of which I have chosen some sites that are displaying their ads here.Ofcourse the earning becomes possible only when there is much traffic to the sites and inturn it requires me to put on many posts infact as many quality posts as possible. But usually what happens is in too much eagerness to make money, people just put on some rubbish as posts and the quality of the blog just degrades.Hope that doesnt happen to me and if at all the standard falls low,Please let me know so that I can maintain the minimum standars that one expects from this blog.

Solaris dilemma
I wonder how many of my collegemates have looked into the last row machines in the CENTRAL COMPUTING FACILITY LAB of the college and wondered what are these machines for.Yes I am talking about the 10-20 SUN Microsystem machines that lie in the lab.Its near about 2 years now and I dont think anyone has ever dared to operate it,to be frank I have to shamelessly admit, we dont know how to use it.But now its high time atleast we see the desktop and appearence of best operating system in the world, and a group of final year students which includes me has taken up the charge of crawling into the depths of solaris and coming out with something that would atleast be a beginning. Our group has been assigned the task of studying the basics, operate the system and take a session for the computer science department students regarding the basic operational overview of the solaris operating system. You must be wondering why am I still not mentioning the version of the solaris used.Sorry guys,I need to enquire about it (this gives an idea about my preparation).I am yet to start but I hope to get the TASK done asap.

Do no evil
Wondering what I mean; My mention is on the motto of google "Do no evil".I had recently infact yesterday completed digesting a book "The google story" ,the origin and growth of Google.I was just fascinated by the way Brin and Page had brought up their company.May be its the lone company I feel which exists with a view of selfless service to its users.I dream of a day when I would be a member of the Googleplex and would be meeting my modern era idols Sergey Brin and Larry Page. Its really a computer techie's dream to be working with google and not to mention the wonderful environment that Google provides. Its more like a home rather than an office. The work culture is the best and the most unique you can ever get and ofcourse of the food at "Charlie's place" is nothing less than that in heaven. But there is only one defect,I dont even have half the potential that Google expects from a noogler.Hope someday I can reach to the minimum standards that they would want from a fresher.Anyway thanks to the Stanford products for giving a niche for super techies GOOGLE.
